The Many New Faces of #LdnOntBike: 2021 Edition

Without further ado, the 2021 New Bike Day collection!

NOVEMBER 25, 2021

London’s bike culture took some big steps forward in 2021 thanks to the contributions of so many incredible people. We can’t thank you, our community, enough for letting us help you do more on a bike every day. Thank you to all of you who helped show everyone that life is “Better By Bike;” each of you is a leader and a model for others to learn from, and each of you help make the city more bike friendly just by choosing two wheels instead of four.

Looking back at your photos from this year, we think this might be the first “Year of the Cargo Bike” here in London. We helped so many families find joy and utility on an electric cargo bike, enabling you to leave the car at home more often. We heard from you after your new bike day, too, about how easy these bikes are to use, how they’re adaptable to so many riders, and can be used for so many different things. It’s hard to find a scenario where you don’t want to choose your bike to get “To The Grocery Store and Beyond!” This year wasn’t just about cargo bikes though, customers resoundingly came in looking for a bike with a purpose, no matter how big or small. We were constantly being asked, “I need to get from X to Y, while carrying Z: how can I do that in the best way possible?” There’s nothing we enjoy more than finding solutions for these objectives and helping you make a difference in our community.

When you pick up your new bike from us we always ask, “Would you like to take a photo with your new bike?” We love sharing your new bike stories, and showing all kinds of different people riding bikes in our community. Not everyone chooses to have their photo taken (and that’s OK, too!), but many want to share their bike journey with others, to help say, “You can do it!” to folks who might be on the fence about starting a bike habit.

We have a lot to look forward to in the coming year, with a new location in an easily accessible place and re-opening our café to give you a great place to spend time with your friends and family. We’re excited for 2022 already! If you didn’t decide to start a bike habit this year, check out the web store now and come see us to make plans for spring. Our demo fleet is ready to roll in any weather.

When we open our second location next year it will be with a whole roster of new faces and skill sets to meet your needs. Fundamentally, we’re about serving our community and that’s what we love most about what we do. We look forward to being able to host you in our new space and continue to grow our bike culture together.

Without any further ado, these are the faces of ordinary Londoners who have transformed their lives this year by choosing to ride a bike more often. Thanks to all of you!
